Dr Yim obtained her MB ChB from the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016, graduating with multiple academic awards and scholarships. She began ophthalmology training in the Hong Kong Eye Hospital in 2017. Her special interests are in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and neuro-ophthalmology. During her training, she received the Best Poster Award at the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery / Annual Scientific Meeting in 2018. In 2024, she won the Dr Sadhu Ram Gupta MBE Award for International Examination Candidates in the Part 2 FRCOphth Oral Exam. Following specialist qualification, she was promoted to Associate Consultant in the Hong Kong Eye Hospital and Hong Kong Children′s Hospital in 2023.

She established the first pediatric-centered visual electrophysiology service in the Hong Kong Children′s Hospital and serves as its coordinator, significantly enhancing diagnostic care for complex childhood visual disorders.

Dr Yim has contributed to different peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals and has been invited to serve as speaker and co-chair at different regional and international academic meetings, including the Asia Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society Congress 2025, the Annual Meeting of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Branch of the Guangzhou Medical Association 2025, and the Hong Kong Paediatric Ophthalmology Symposium 2024.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr Yim mentors junior doctors and medical students, provides hands-on training for ophthalmology trainees, and volunteers in community eye-care programs.
