Professional Profile

Dr. Xinyi (Cindy) Leng is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK); Fellow of American Heart Association (FAHA).

She is an Assistant Editor of Stroke & Vascular Neurology, the official journal of the Chinese Stroke Association, who also serves on the Editorial Board of Stroke, International Journal of Stroke, and European Stroke Journal.

Dr. Leng has obtained a Bachelor in Medicine and a Master in Clinical Medicine from Capital Medical University in Beijing, and a PhD in Medical Sciences from CUHK. She has received post-doctoral training at CUHK and University of Oxford.

Dr. Leng’s research focuses on stroke and intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD). She has been utilizing multimodal neuroimaging and computational methods to study cerebral hemodynamics and plaque characteristics in ICAD and the clinical implications, using a cross-disciplinary approach. She has been funded by Research Grants Council and Health Bureau of Hong Kong, National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Association for Science and Technology, and the Lee Hysan Foundation. Since 2013, Dr. Leng has published more than 120 articles on stroke and ICAD in peer-reviewed journals, with an H-index of 32 (Google Scholar).
