Professional Profile

Rashid Lui is a Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Clinical Assistant Professor (Honorary) of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, and Department of Clinical Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Dr Lui has clinical interests in digestive cancers, cancer genetics and onco-gastroenterology. After completing his training in Gastroenterology (GI) and Hepatology, Medical Oncology, and Advanced Internal Medicine, he was conferred as a First Fellow in Genetics and Genomics (Medicine) by the Hong Kong College of Physicians.

Dr Lui has published in peer-reviewed journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology, JAMA Oncology, Gastroenterology and Gut, with a h-index of 25 (from Google Scholar). Internationally, he currently serves as the Founding Co-Chair, Emerging Leaders Committee, Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE), Member, Young GI Committee, World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO), Member, Colonoscopy Quality Taskforce, Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee, World Endoscopy Organization (WEO), and Member of the Asia Pacific Working Group on Colorectal Cancer Screening. Locally, he is the President-Elect, Hong Kong Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, Founding Vice-President, Hong Kong Society of Digestive Oncology, and Chair, Public Affairs Committee, Hong Kong Society of Gastroenterology.
